Sustain Group Inc. ("Sustain Group", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our operations, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal law that applies to private-sector organizations in Ontario, and its ten fair information principles.

01Who we are

Sustain Group Inc. is an Ontario corporation based in Peterborough, providing environmental remediation, site restoration, stormwater maintenance, and civil contracting to nuclear, municipal, and industrial owners across the Lake Ontario corridor, through its divisions.

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for this policy and for the personal information in our care. Contact details are in section 10.

This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website (including our contact and careers forms), by email or phone, and in the course of providing our services. "Personal information" means information about an identifiable individual.

When you apply for a job

• Your name, email address, and phone number;
• The area of work you're interested in and anything you tell us about yourself;
• Your resume and any information contained in it (work history, education, certifications, references).

When you visit the website

Our website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. 04Why we collect it

We collect, use, and disclose personal information for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, including to:

• respond to enquiries and provide quotes, prequalification materials, and services;
• review and respond to job applications and manage hiring;
• communicate with you about projects, applications, or requests;
• operate, secure, and improve our website and business; and
• meet our legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose not listed here, we'll identify that purpose and obtain your consent first, unless the law permits otherwise.

05Consent

We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your knowledge and consent. By submitting a form or sending us information, you consent to us handling it for the purposes set out in this policy. Consent may be express (ticking a box on our careers form) or implied (providing your email so we can reply).

You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting our Privacy Officer. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a service or consider your application.

06How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business and serve you, including with:

• Service providers who process information on our behalf, for example, the form-handling service that delivers your form submissions and resume ([name of form service]) and our email provider ([email provider]). These providers may store data on servers outside Ontario or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We use providers offering comparable protection and remain accountable for your information in their care.
• Professional advisors such as our lawyers or accountants, where reasonably necessary;
• Authorities where required or permitted by law.

07How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes we collected it, or as required by law, then securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it. You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, how we've used it, and who we've shared it with, and to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (section 10). We'll respond within the timeframe required by law and may need to verify your identity first.

We may update this policy as our business, technology, or the law changes. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
